ECHS student Cyndi Park recently received the highest score in EC history in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC).
The AMC is the most prestigious and recognized Mathematic competition in the US. Starting from this competition, only top students go through layers of competitions to represent the US in the International Mathematical Olympiad. Over 350,000 students in over 6,000 schools who are talented in mathematics try to take the AMC annually, trying to test their abilities among many young talented Mathematicians. Cyndi placed in the top 2.5% among them; she earned the invitation to the prestigious American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) and received an honor for the distinction of AIME Qualifier.
Cyndi prepared for this exam through rigorous work at EC under the direction of EC teacher Esther Kim in the Math Club. Cyndi is also the president of the Math Club and National Mathematics Honor Society at EC. Congrats, Cyndi!
