The hallways of Eastern Christian School’s three campuses were alive with the sounds of excited celebration today as the school’s 813 students enjoyed frozen fruit pops at the Elementary School and Krispy Kreme doughnuts at the Middle School and High School in celebration of the successful completion of the school’s reaccreditation efforts.  Eastern Christian School was unanimously and enthusiastically recommended for reaccreditation by a six member team of educators from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools following a three day visit last month.

The team’s report to the Commission on Accreditation stated that, “”Eastern Christian School is an institution where caring, risking, dreaming, and expecting are captured in the culture of the school and in its plan for the future.”  The report continued, “ “The team is most impressed with the warm, loving atmosphere that is evident throughout the entire school community.  The rapport among students, faculty, and administration demonstrates a positive attitude of pride, concern and satisfaction for [the] school.”

During its nearly two year preparation for the Middle States Association visit, Eastern Christian conducted a review of its performance against twelve rigorous standards promulgated by the regional educational accreditation association.  As part of the review, the school developed and presented Middle States with a detailed seven year plan for preparing its students for world transforming leadership through a concentration on character education and global competence skills.
